Data loss issues with iCloud are back - it loses your data!

WARNING!!! DATA LOSS ISSUES!!! The current version is back to losing safes when used with iCloud. I can’t recommend this app until they figure out how to make it stable with iCloud. I use dozens of other apps with iCloud and none but this one ever have any problems. But problems with this app are much more impactful as if I can’t get in to my passwords I can’t use anything online… Beware - iCloud safes are unreliable, and if they want to force me to sign up for additional services to use this app then it really has no point, I will switch to the apps that support the iCloud services I *already* use. Support has not been very friendly.

I did the research for you!

This password manager is exactly what I was looking for! Simple, stored on my machine, non-AES, and works perfectly every time. It doesn’t use any risky/questionable behaviors such as connecting to a browser add-on. It took me awhile to find, but it was well worth the research and time.

Exceptional

Love the simplicity, yet power of this app. It just does exactly what it needs to do, seamlessly, across all devices. I’ve used this app for several years and once in a while make the mistake of thinking that something better is out there. Then I waste my time trying more glitzy apps and end up returning to PWSafe every time. It just works.

Overall solid buy except for price

After commiting to Password Safe on Windows without checking the options on Mac OS first I felt compelled to buy this product. Although I’m not fond of the $15 price tag plus $10 for Yubikey the software works very well. And appears to be maintained regularly. If I could go back I would have gone with KeePass which has all plateforms covered for free. But I do not have any functional issues with the software.

A-MAZ-ING!

Review Update: Still loving this app and I CANNOT live without it! I love Password Safe and I’ve been using it for quite some time on my PC. I made the switch to a Mac and I made sure that out of all of the applications I would be able to run on the Mac, that this program would be one of them. I am not disappointed! It even opened my previous Password Safe file without any issues. All of my info is correct and I don’t have to retype anything! I cannot be happier! Please continue to keep this app up-to-date. Love it!

awkward

It has some annoying features. like it doesn’t remember your previous files. copying the password and username used to be a simple button click but they don’t have the buttons anymore. it is just an awkward interface. and i would never trust my password file in the cloud. that is a creepy practice.

Most usable pwd manager

What I like the best in this password manager is that it is running on all the platforms, using the same file format! If you don’t want to use the cloud, you just copy the password file to your phone, tablet, pc, whatever, and there you go, you can use it. Operating system does not matter, as the client exist on Mac, iOS, Droid, Linux, Windows. The user interface is very intuitive, you just start using it. You can use Ubikey for two factor authentication. The only thing I miss is that there is no setting to override the default browser, so when you open a web-page, then it will pass the info to the system default browser. Otherwise a great tool.

Not Bad

It’s functional and seems to work well with my windows teammates who use passwordSafe. For $14.99 though there are outstanding UI issues in El Capitan when trying to resize the window which prevents you from doing so. The app hasn’t been updated since Feb, 2016 but hopefully, this will get resolved. It certainly makes it difficult at times not being able to resize the window on a large monitor. Please fix this and I will update my review.

A second safe appeared

I loved this app until one day out of nowhere I suddently had two safes with about half my passwords spread between the two. I do not know how this happened but now to retrieve a password I have to often check one safe and then the other. Big time waster. Tech support has sent me two emails neither of which helped me get rid of / merge the safes. Apparently is is easy to accidentally create a new safe and start saving passwords there without realizing it. Very frustrated.

Was good, now problematic

Every so often, my current version of my password file disappears (as it did again today). Sometimes I have found my current version disappeared, but it reappears shorlty after. This time, it has not reappeared. Fortunately, I have backups, however this is not something that should be happening with such a vital app/program. I have been using it for years, but this has become unacceptable and I am moving to a new password manager ASAP.

We’re not all Uber geeks

The import instructions are awful. I won’t be keeping after the 30 day trial.

Works Consistently Across My Devices

I have hundreds of accounts in my password safe database. I can use this across my devices through a cloud file system dropbox. It is a great way to manage details about account status in the notes section as well.

Amazing

I used to use the windows PasswordSafe. When I moved to Mac OSX, I was glad to find PWSafe. And I have it in my iOS devices too. Everything safe, everything shared. Simply perfect.

Perfect

Great product! Works perfectly syncing the safe using iCloud between my MacBook and my iPhone. Today, I can tell anyone I don’t even know my passwords. Signing up to a new site/service? Generate a 50-char random string and keep it in my safe. I reported a bug a few months ago (before 3.x release) and the developer answered my email the next day. So, what else can I ask for?

Dropbox and local files?

I got this because of the great experience I had with the iOS app. Although there is no direct Dropbox integration, it does work with the Dropbox content as a local file. However, it does not at all remember which local file was opened last, which is a major usability issue. Please fix. Thanks!

function missing on mac client ...

on ipad you can easily send a locked pdf to an email … why not having the same function here? thats why you get only 4 stars for now guys ,)

(FIXED!)Serious bug leding to lost pw

Thanks for fixing the serious bug below in the current version. Now I can give out the 5 stars. ------------------------------------ -Create pw and hit quit. -Re-open safe and notice the new pw is gone or reverted back to the previous one. -the app doesnt warn the user about unsaved changes before quitting. Very dangerous bug. Please fix this asap. Otherwise it can cause permanent lockout because of lost PWs. Apart from that great app but current version is bad.

How about...

… Alfred-App integration? :) Would be so cool!

Nice but new Icon please!

I am using this app since years on my iOS devices. Now i bought it for my Mac and it’s perfect! Syncing works great. But please make a better looking icon. Thanks...

Works very well

Personaly I would like to make my own templates for passwords because sometimes the standard one is not always right but that’s just a minor issue. Backup and icloud work also.
