Was Great, Then used Support and now I am committed

I have been using pwsafe for quite some time. However I recently ran into an issues and utilized Support Request under help. I got a quick response, provided information and got a resolution very promptly. Having a great app, backed by great service and attentiveness makes this an application worth using to secure your passwords. Highly Recommend this application.

Changed the way I use passwords

This has changed the way I use passwords. I let pwSafe pick a password for me for each web site I use. See xkcd 792 for why it is recommended to not re-use passwords. This is a great app! Suggestion: have a keyboard shortcut for focusing the search field. In a browser, cmd-L focuses the location bar so it is easy to do a web search. I would like to do that in pwSafe so I don’t have to touch the mouse, since I am predominantly a keyboard-oriented user.

Perfect fit

For nearly 10 years, I have kept passwords in the “password safe” program off of SourceForge. A few years ago, I switched to a Mac. This program allowed me to safely and easily access all my passwords. I now can do the same from my iPhone. Works great. Thanks for maintaining this app and providing all the features.

On going support is key.

See the version number and date? This app is under continual development and receiving bug fixes as needed. Buying the app is only the beginning. With an application like this, you’ll be entering dozens of passwords over time. Why go to all that work with something that may break with the next release of the Mac OS? I only invest my time and energy in applications that are obviously still getting lots of love from the developer.

Great way to handle passwords.

I’ve been using for years. Very happy.

Conveniet and Easy to Use

pwSafe has made it easy to make my passwords less hackable and easy to access. All of my platforms, iPhone, iPad, desktop/laptop, access the same vault since I store the it on iCloud. I like that I can tailor the rules for the password generator for each website or application. If they could get the feature to name and save custom password creation options working, I’d give it 5 stars.

A-MAZ-ING!

I love Password Safe and I’ve been using it for quite some time on my PC. I made the switch to a Mac and I made sure that out of all of the applications I would be able to run on the Mac, that this program would be one of them. I am not disappointed! It even opened my previous Password Safe file without any issues. All of my info is correct and I don’t have to retype anything! I cannot be happier! Please continue to keep this app up-to-date. Love it!

pwSafe

Big ripoff… could not even create a vault. Application crashed. Would not trust with my passwords. Pick another product.

Best password app!

Have been using PWSafe for several years, and it’s a lifesaver! It takes a couple of days to get used to using it for everything, but it’s totally worth it!

Catch-22

Would like to like this app but every once in a while it decides it needs to sign into iTunes again, and asks for my iTunes password before it will let me open my password safe. Without access to my safe I can’t give it. So far, the solution has been to delete the app, redownload and start over, but this is very inconvenient.

A Step Above Open Source

I started using Password Safe with the open source GUI. This application is a step up from the free version for several reasons: * Easy to install on any of my Macs - the open source version is a crap shoot as to whether it will work * Nice search feature to easily find one of my hundreds of password entries * One window - the open source version pops up separate dialogs which makes it clunkier It would be nice if the notes as not hidden. I keep having to click on a button to unhide them and then the password is also displayed. Sometimes I need those notes while someone is behind me and I do NOT want them to see my password. That’s my only real complaint. One serious problem I ran into though: it is tied to iTunes. Today I couldn’t open the app without logging into iTunes first but my iTunes password was in Password Safe - catch 22! I had to open the password file in Windows to get into it on my Mac. Very annoying!

Pwsafe not working

All of a sudden I try to open my vault and PWsafe states it’s corrupt and redownload from app store. There is no way to do that. This app has crashed with all of my passwords in it and I can’t seem to remedy it. Help.

Rock Solid Password protection

The best choice I have found for Mac OS X and Apple iOS secure password storage. As a security professional, I look for trust-worthy development using well-known encryption algorithms. With the desktop and the iOS applications, I can keep large password stores in sync. Also, the ability to have multiple vaults allows separation of work and personal items.

Latest Update is NG

Not sure if it is me or more universal, but just applied latest update and it blew the program out of the water. Continually terminates unexpectedly after start up.

Long view of this App

I have been using this app for a number of years (probably pushing 7 or 8 but possibly longer), beginning with a Windows/Intel platform. I selected it because my employer at the time (an extremely IP and security-conscious top 50 global company) recommended it, but also because it supported Macs. Although I initially copied its file to my other platforms, I soon moved to a cloud-based implementation for use with Apple’s products (iPhones, iPads, Macs). I no longer use Windows, but I had no issues with the app when my employer converted from WinXT to Win7. Net-net: Reliability has been extremely good; portability via a cloud delivery has been flawless. Usability has been very good. I cannot comment on its integration with other apps as I don’t use these aspects.

Great app on both OS X and iOS!

I use this app on iPad, iPhone, and Mac. I am very satisfied with how well it works with iCloud including the Windows application not provided by this company. Continue the great work!

Works across OSX, iOS

We share a single Password Safe across 2 iPhones, an iPad, and 2 MacBook Pros via iCloud. It has worked flawlessly without incident for about 2 years. It syncs unobtrusively in the background. The user interface is still a bit clunky and homely. The main function buttons are along the bottom of the UI and not obvious, but easily learned. It works as advertised.

pwSafe 4.6 broken for Mavericks?

OSX Software Update installed pwSafe 4.6 early this morning. Now pwSafe crashes when I open my database file. Release notes are not encouraging since they say "dont install on Mavericks". Is there a way to downgrade? Or should I just plan on spending Thanksgiving upgrading to El Capitan.... Up til now pwSafe has been flawless.

Great way to manage passwords!

I’ve been using the Windows project version (completely compatible with this Mac/iOS version) for several years at work. I’ve been using this Mac/iOS version for several months now and it has been a wonderful secure way to manage and store all my website and account passwords and information. I enjoy using the Safari plugin on my Macbook (Yosemite 10.10.5) as it easily detects the correct domain and automagically enters my username and password. Having the database shared, synced, and backed up on iCloud is a very useful feature for quickly accessing my passwords on my iPhone (iOS 9.1). It’s also nice to know my password software is based on open source cryptography and standards that are compatible with other similar programs and operating systems if needed. I’ve tried several other password managers for Mac/iOS and this has been the best for my general needs, and the most reasonably priced.
